Because of protesters outside getting violent, apparently. That would not be fun to be stuck in there with a riot going on.

I saw the pictures from before the game of the protesters and police clashing on the streets outside the stadium, right along the route a lot of people walk from the Arena parking garage to Camden Yards. They let people out, but told them not to go north or west out of the stadium, which I would assume keeps a lot of people away from their cars.

Was at that game tonight. From my vantage point, looked like he twisted his ankle. He was walking under his own power by the time he left the field, I think.

The Brewers were a fun bunch of suck tonight. Cutoffman airmailed a throw to third that probably would have had the guy, instead sailed past. Had a bunt that turned into a pop-up double play. Catcher tried to throw behind the runner at second and he threw it in to center field. Felt like watching a high school game.

Hummel's game blog: Cards survive injury to Waino, beat Brewers : Sports

He said it felt like something hit him and the injury is at the back of the foot. Cardinals apparently waiting until Monday to re-evaluate. I've seen athletes walk off the field with a torn Achilles, so I'm not sure how much that means.

Here is another story with video of the injury. Really tough to tell what it is, but his comments aren't encouraging.

Wipe the tears up yet fanboy? You're not the only Royals baby on here.

I think one sentence was all that was needed there.

I'm going to call it. That's an Achilles' tear. Might not be a complete tear, but watch how that heel goes down when his left foot behind him. It was an Achilles tear with Brandon Jennings, it was an Achilles' tear with Wesley Matthews.

Sure seems like it. Not sure why they are waiting until Monday. If it's torn, they probably already know.

Yup. They know. But it's protocol to not say anything until the MRI confirms it. But they're already preparing for the worst in the Lou.

To follow up on last night, Ken Rosenthal reported that the "expectation" is Wainwright will miss the rest of the season with a torn Achilles tendon. And yes, I primarily care because it screws my fantasy team. Also a huge impact in the NL Central. I know there were some concerns coming off the end of 2014, but he looked great until the injury.
