What I've always found stupid is how, when all the allegations about Jackson came out, radio stations stopped playing his music.

Then when he died, they started playing it again. Like now it's safe to play the music because he's dead.

Back when Pedro was on the show, the Real World wasn't like how it, and a lot of reality shows are today, which are just oversexed screaming matches and fake drama. For the first three, four seasons, the show was more about how total strangers, each of whom has a backstory, would react if they were thrown in to live together. The fourth season actually didn't have very much drama, outside of one guy having his tongue bitten off, because they were just regular people.

For Zamora, he already had a compelling backstory, with being gay and living with AIDs. Don't forget, at that time, AIDS was just starting to be seen as a more part of life after Magic revealed he had HIV, and not some disease sent up by Satan that was meant to destroy sinners.

Zamora was a public activist and was teaching about the disease before he went on the show. Very few, if anyone knew him before the show, which gave him a forum to teach. Jenner could be that person, too, as long as it is focused on his life and changes, instead of being a part of the Kardashian family drama.

So Christie Brinkley pulls up beside him and passes him. Does he speed up to catch her? Does he take a dip in the hotel pool with her?

Time will tell, but I suspect that Bravo will do their best to present the show in this manner.

The Kardashian show, and all of it's frivolity, will still go on, but it will be a separate show.

Doubtful since the show will be on E!— home of the long-running reality series Keeping Up With the Kardashians and its many spin-offs.

Ah, you're right. Get my reality TV show & networks mixed up.

Still, I think they'll feel a responsibility to tell the story in an appropriate manner.

ABC and Dianne Sawyer got a lot of credit for how they handled the interview. E! is still a part of the Hollywood establishment, and depends on its good will. They're not going to turn Bruce Jenner into a circus clown. It would be bad for business.

So I ask this question in all sincerity.

Is anyone aware of any person who became transgender and ended up a happy person?

The suicide attempt rate in the transgender community is "staggering" according to this article.

No. Not personally. And, it's terribly sad.

I have a client going through it now, and it terrifies me.

Anne Coulter has a dick, and it doesn't make her an empathetic person

You are, of course, implying that Ann Coulter is actually human.

If Jenner goes through with this completely, or even as completely as possible minus any actual reassignment surgery -- remember he lost his nerve once before -- I really believe it will have little to do with the Kardashians, or with it being a publicity stunt, even though it will certainly attract publicity.

Since it seems that very few people here have actually watched the Kardashians' show, I will go ahead and admit that I have. Only twice, mind you, but I have at least seen it. And I'll let you know that, both times, Jenner was on the episodes, and both times, he was shown only briefly, usually with him expressing exasperation at the goings-on among the women in his family. And both times, he was shown leaving them to it, and just going off by himself to get out of the middle of it and wasn't seen again the rest of the shows. He wasn't seeking publicity on that show. He was just part of it because he was part of the family. But my impression was that that was pretty much it.

Oh, and I think that if Reggie Jackson came out as transgender and openly, personally interested in undergoing possible reassignment surgery, it might actually end up causing even more of a stir than Jenner's situation has created.

I get the sense that people aren't that surprised when it comes to Jenner -- that it's something that has, perhaps, been a long time coming, and people can see it happening.

Reggie Jackson? Are you kidding me? Truly, nobody would be able to believe it.
