Maybe they could go up I-95 to Citizens Bank Park. It would be the first time since 2012 Philadelphia's had Major League Baseball.

Sports cancellations. Ugh. Don't they know that sports are the most important thing in the world?

I wish I had recorded the calls to the office when college football games were canceled after 9/11.

The kid might have toyed with the idea of giving himself up to police just to stop Mom's beat-down.

    A complete lack of leadership:

In an interview on CNN late Monday, Rawlings-Blake explained that her goal had been to contain the violence and destruction without escalating the riots with a heavy-handed police presence.

“We’ve seen what happens when other jurisdictions have overreacted and brought in resources that escalated the violence on the street,” she said. “And I didn’t want that to happen in Baltimore. I was very measured because we wanted to make sure that we had the appropriate response to what was going on the ground. And when we saw the breakout violence in the small groups, we realized it was time to bring in additional resources.”

Hogan told a national television audience Monday that he had to wait for Rawlings-Blake to request a state of emergency before he could call in the National Guard. She made the request at 6:30 p.m., and the governor said he issued the order “less than 30 seconds” later.
