Is this just cross-promoting? Or a precursor to another Nexus invasion?

Just trying to see where all of these one-off Raw appearances are headed...

They've played him a bit differently than I was expecting and it's a lot different than any other heels they have. He's essentially playing the role of "I'm going to do whatever I have to do to provide for my family and I don't care who is affected."
If you look at his mannerisms and cadence and listen to what he says, he comes off as very cold-blooded and indifferent to the suffering he inflicts on his opponents, which is vastly different than the typical heels who do bad things because 1.) They're "bad guys" (Kane, Sheamus, etc) or they're only looking out for themselves (Big Show, Mark Henry, Rollins.)
I like it but do worry about making him seem weak at the same time.

People frequently post clips, and sometimes the whole show, on YouTube.

When Owens' music hit I marked. I freely and fully admit it. Marked out through the roof.

And now we get Cena/Owens at EC as well? Oh man.

The only negative I took away from it was him stomping on the US Belt. That could've been seen as the whole "Eric Shepherd Challenge" thing. Obviously, we know it wasn't and I'm sure he didn't mean for it to be taken that way, but it could be.

But other than that, yes. I loved it. And Cena even sold the Pop-Up Powerbomb to the moon.

I'm curious. What does "marked out through the roof" mean, exactly?

Haven't looked in a few weeks, but the most recent episode of Raw I think I remember seeing on the Network was from 2010 or 2011.

I knew Steen was 31, but didn't realize Zayn is 30. Neville is 28 and Breeze is 27. And damn, Kenta is 34 and Balor is 33. I really wish those guys had signed earlier.

I hope this will be a good feud. Neville can carry the in-ring action, Bo can carry it on the mic.

Hard to be the bad guy when you've got 75 percent of the crowd behind you.

I think they're trying to get more eyes on NXT and -- obviously -- more subscribers by showing these guys on the big stage. But I could also see them doing some sort of modern-day Nexus, where a bunch of guys come in and just take over again.

Love what they are doing with NXT at the moment. Owens picking the NXT title over the US title makes NXT seem seriously legit to the folks who perhaps don't watch or don't know of (seriously) NXT. Elimination Chamber is looking pretty damn good.

It's a figure of speech, man.

I'm aware of that. But is it literal at all? For example, I was laying on the sofa when Paul Pierce his the (late) 3 against the Hawks the other night. I jumped off the couch and shouted "holy shit!" to no one in particular. Is that considered marking out through the roof? Or do wrestling fans take it to another level?

    Yes.

I'd also consider it akin to what I imagine schieza and Rhody do while watching the Patriots.

I'm a Redskins fan. What's the opposite of marking out? Cause that's what I do most Sundays in the fall. Maybe blackout. That seems about right.

The most memorable instance of marking out at wrestling that I can remember is when Jericho debuted. Still the coolest debut maybe ever.
