    Noah Galloway: Lost two appendages.

Bruce Jenner: Afraid to lose one of his. :)

There are actually two awards, the Ashe award for courage/inspiration, and a Jimmy V award for perseverance won by the likes of Stuart Scott, Team Hoyt, Eric Legrand and Kay Yow.

And has anyone asked how LeBron feels about this?

Yeah, and Jenner should be a candidate for neither.

Agreed. The speed with which this was announced after the Vanity Fair cover came out makes me think those at the ESPYs simply said "jackpot."

Yeah, and the ESPYs will get crazy ratings this year as a result.

If this was simply because Jenner was making his/her first public appearance as Caitlynn, that would be one thing. But giving him an award is just pandering for ratings.

Off the top your head who are the previous 5 winners?

I know Michael Sam won it last year. Pretty sure Pat Summitt won it fairly recently, as well.

Robin Roberts won a couple years ago.

Point is, it's a made up award. There is no second place, has anybody ever given two shits in previous years who was "snubbed"?

It's like getting mad because your favorite pro wrestler isn't in the Hall of Fame.

Well, aren't all awards "made up"? I'm pretty sure the Oscars, the Cy Young Award, Best Brisket at the State Fair aren't natural occurrences. Someone came up with them, yet people still care who wins them.
