Huh. Was planning to come here and discuss Bishop's shutout. :) Oops. Blackhawks are money when it counts.

That's what happens when you play not to lose. The Lightning had complete control of that game and then inexplicably stopped attacking.

I wouldn't say inexplicably. I think you explained it quite well. They got a lead and started playing to hold it rather than extend it.

Is that also what happened the 9 million other times these playoffs when the Blackhawks decided to turn it on and erased the other team's lead just like that?

It really is amazing how the Blackhawks can pounce. The Lightning did sit back after dominating the first period, but Chicago just capitalizes on any small opportunity. Talent and experience.

What's funny is that people were pretty frustrated with this team in Chicago the last few weeks of the regular season, thinking it just wasn't going to happen for this team. Of course, Patrick Kane's absence had a lot to do with what was ailing them.

Come on. It's always, Always, ALWAYS someone choking. Nobody ever does anything well in sports. People just do things poorly.

It's amazing ability for Blackhawks to have young guys like Saad, Shaw, Tuevo who just come in and step up in postseason and don't shrink in the moment. Other teams have guys with young talent that are afraid to make an error, but Hawks guys seemingly attack and don't shy away from big moments.

Back at it tonight. There are some fears being expressed in Chicago that the Rays have Crawford scouted at this point and are executing that plan, i.e. shooting toward the posts from around the goal line.

Or it's simply Crawford being Crawford.

Toward the end of Game 1, Emerick made some proclamation during the broadcast about how everyone in Chicago will be demanding that Crawford get an extension, no amount they pay him is adequate, etc., etc.

Honestly, most could take him or leave him.
