Another academic scandal; UNC is f-cked

Ha, so the NCAA being included in that lawsuit might be the best thing that ever happened to UNC.

 

Notice of Allegations is in. Based on this, I'd guess women's hoops will be hit the hardest.

Cleveland State must have had an alibi.

 

If they follow the Penn State model of sue sue sue, fight fight fight they'll lose one partial scholarship for the women's straight pool team.

 

I see that North Carolina's scandal has led the NCAA to dropping the hammer on Arkansas Tech.

The Wonder Boys, but not Wonder Girls, had to forfeit hundreds of games in multiple sports over a relatively minor issue involving on-campus housing deposits.

Ben Montgomery must be furious.

 

Roy Williams to get extension

 

The Tar Heels -- at least the men's basketball team -- will skate. No way UNC could give an extension if it had reason to fear any serious sanctions were forthcoming.

 

Or that's what they want recruits to think anyway. I think they are going to get off easy because of the NCAA being named in the lawsuit too, but who knows.

 

Every time I think the story couldn't get any worse, Dan Kane at the News & Observer pulls out another document that makes me shake my head and say WTF?
