Well, in all seriousness, everyone he owes money to should go after him for it to the fullest extent of their ability to do so. They should garnish his wages or whatever they can. I mean, the guy has publicly announced he isn't paying, right? OK, here's what happens.

They already have. That's the point of his article -- they've thrown what they can at him and it isn't that bad.

If we can close up some laws to make this situation less workable for people like him, it would be different in the future ... but you know Ragu doesn't like all a dem gubmint regulatin' things.

Much better to rely on people scolding defaulters from Internet handles at obscure message boards.

That's why I was suggesting actual physical violence. You know, some Don Corleone style of respect and business workings would put a stop to this foolishness.

When do I get to baseball bat the Wall Street bankers who fucked the economy up in the first place? Or even more fun, the executives who screwed Bethlehem Steel and USAir up so bad that they simply wiped out the pensions that were promised to employees but never delievered? Murrica: You want promises kept? Cool story, bro.

    Pensions aren't promises, I guess.

I'll look for Ragu on the picket line, singing Clapton:

Yeah, I am in full agreement that a lot of those folks need to be hunted down and bopped. Repeatedly.

Pensions were one of the things I considered when this thread started and I wrote this:

My issue isn't with the student loan deadbeat but my sense that people of all socioeconomic backgrounds are becoming increasingly cavalier about walking away from contractual obligations.

For example, it sickens me that average, middle-class people would be ok with a governor who tells them he's going to cut their taxes by taking away pensions from retirees who had already earned them. People cheer on this type of behavior.
