Saad will be a star, or close too.

I wonder if the Hawks can afford to keep him with Kane and Toews extensions kicking in next year.

I got hit with the realization last night that in less than a week, there won't be any hockey to watch for several months. I've watched more this season than I ever have and totally enjoyed it.
Way back when, somebody was trying to sell soccer to me. I told him the sport would be great if they froze the field and put skates on 'em.

I'd have to look into the cap situation, but, money being equal, if you could only keep Saad or Sharp, who do you keep?

Yeah, but I'm ready. It's emotionally exhausting.

I know how greedy that sounds.

    Saad, and it's not close.

Sharp is gone, aging player who is on the downside.

I hate Sharp. He killed me for much of the fantasy season until I finally got sick of him and dumped his sorry ass.

LOL! At least you will be able to hate his sorry ass on another NHL team next year. With the 10.5 each kicking in for Toews and Kane next year, it's going to be post-2010 Cup all over again. Off the top of my head, Sharp, Bickell, Versteeg, Vermette, Oduya and Richards are all headed out.

Hopefully they manage to make the playoffs without Bickell, Versteeg, Vermette, and Richards steering the ship.

Not saying they won't but the Blackhawks will be hard pressed to make the playoffs next year with Toews, Kane, and freaking freak Duncan on D steering the ship.

They'll make the playoffs. But all kidding aside, I think there's a sense of anxiety here right now because everyone realizes it's going to be another two or three years before they can assemble the pieces around those guys to make another run this far.

They could trade Seabrook as well. I don't think they will have the room to sign him long term.

You might want to check out the NHL Network this summer. I'm not really into the playoff series replays but I do enjoy watching vintage games the network airs. There will also be short docs and you'll likely see replays of the inside-the-room series with the likes of Montreal, Boston and Washington. I would personally like to see the network re-air the "Voices" series from a few years back.
