I had the dubble from The Brewer's Art which was the start of a slew of Maryland beers, including Raven Beer's stuff and Heavy Seas along with a Full Tilt IPA. The Cask from Raven Beer, a dobblebock, was awesome. Plus, a cool historical note...the tasting room of Raven Beer (in Peabody Heights Brewing's building) is the former outfield of Terrapin/Oriole Park, which burned down in 1944. A brite tank is at about the spot where home plate was.

Yeah, spike and I and his wife had a mini-SJ-get-together yesterday in Baltimore. I don't like calling it an "Outing", as OUTINGs are forbidden around here.

It was nice to meet some SJ folks in real life.

It was kind of like meeting up on Craigslist, but just for lunch, with the inherent dangers. I figured I was safe, since spike got my Secret Santa gift this past season, and I saw a video of him opening it, and he was bringing his wife. And because the meeting was in broad daylight. I knew they are good people.

I don't know how safe they felt prior to meeting. I mean, they were meeting Vombatus. In Baltimore.

The Stone Enjoy By 7.4 is very crisp and citrusy. I like it a bit better than its last Enjoy By. Been drinking a lot of local Virginia stuff of late, along with Green Flash's Soul Style. Still drinking the IPAs in the summer, but looking to go more light and tropical with them rather than the bitter hop bomb end of the spectrum.

The Batimore part was the scariest. I watch TV and they said I could die if I went there (wait...that was my mom last month).
Sooo, that roofie I put in your drink didn't kick in at all?
Man, I knew Alan Garner (he's in my Wolfpack) screwed up the drugs....and why I just woke up...and parts of my body hurt.

I swear I read that as the dude was banging his wife, but, uh, whatever. Carry on.

Nothing here in Ohio...but if it's above 12% we wouldn't have it anyway...stupid laws.

That sucks, it's 12.5. But at least you can get Founders KBS (although i would think it's gone by now) and Westbrook Mexican Cake, both are just under 12.

Yeah, KBS is big here. I could venture into Michigan for "big beers" but usually it's just a crap shoot since most of the border towns are so "cliquey" and they only give the good stuff to big-time spenders and friends, both which I am not.

Happy Ending (a reference to male sexual climax, presumably after a massage) features images on its bottle that include a box of tissues, the face of a man achieving what looks to be the pinnacle of pleasure and the silhouette of a geisha. It all added up to a bit more than the store's beer manager, Adam Vavrick, was comfortable putting on shelves.

"This label is about a female Asian sex worker manually masturbating a man to orgasm and cleaning up the ejaculate with tissues," Vavrick said. "Why is that appropriate on a beer label?"

That's the "O-Face Guy" from Office Space on the label.
