The Wonderful World of Tupperware from the 1960s.

It's a 30 minute industrial film that shows how Tupperware goes from concept, prototype, engineering molds and design drawings, to production lines and quality controls.

The end featured Anita Bryant singing a Tupperware song to a gathering honoring their top direct marketers.

I found myself wondering why I was watching this, but the production line machinery was fascinating.

And I kept thinking of "The Graduate" - plastics!

Watched "Kingsmen" last night and really liked it. It was a lot of fun with some solid action, likable characters and a few tongue-in-cheek jabs at other spy franchises.

Sam Jackson's lisp was a little distracting, but it was fun to see him bring something different to a role than just being Sam Jackson.

It worked well as an R-rated movie, too. Don't underestimate how much more natural the dialogue in an action/spy movie can be when you sprinkle in a few fucks.

Largest opening worldwide in history, tallying more than a half billion dollars in the opening weekend. It projects to finish just behind Avengers for the highest-ever domestic gross with $204M (Avengers was $207), but it could end up the top domestic opener once the actuals roll in.

It's not a bad action movie. The dino fights were great and the final dinosaur scene was badass. It is a nostalgia movie that actually holds up to the original and audiences responded. That said, I still think it's a good not great movie. There was too much really?! going on with the kids and a wildly forced love story. The writers wrote for the action sequences and slapped together a story to fill the gaps.

Interestingly, nearly 40 percent of moviegoers were age 25 or younger, so it's not just the fans of the original Jurassic Park that were into the movie. Also, the actuals are in and it finished with $209M domestically, sending it past The Avengers for the largest domestic opening. Crazy numbers. Its budget was around $150M.

So Pixar is turning 'Herman's Head' into a kid movie?

Damn you, Buck! I so miss Herman's Head~!

Meanwhile, watched Bullitt on TCM; this most recent rewatching helped to solidify it as firmly entrenched in my Top 5 movies of all time. It's just so well shot, no needless dialogue...the car chase is without equal. Jackie Bissett looking fab (even if TCM tried to spoil the atmosphere by having a discussion after the movie, hosted by Sally Field, where she complained about how pointless Bissett's role was (yes, this, coming from Gidget and The Bandit's eyecandy.)

I felt the same way, a fun 2 hours. For me, nothing will ever be as wonderful as seeing those dinosaurs for the first time on the big screen; it was simply amazing; this though was a pretty good follow up.

I'm sure many of them are fans of the original. I'm not that young but I'm not too much older. I was way too young too see the original in theaters. Saw it on television years later and loved it. Discovered many good Michael Crichton books through it.

I'm sure many of them saw it on TV like me. If memory serves, it used to be a regular on TNT/TBS or something 10-15 years ago.

Oh, I totally agree that many of them are probably fans of the original, but I'm equally sure many of them are new fans being introduced to the franchise. That number bodes well for future installments. Basically, a new generation of Jurassic Park fans was born this weekend.

It was also interesting to see how many parents brought their kids to this movie. When I went, I was sitting next two four boys who couldn't have been more than 6 years old. All over Facebook, I'm seeing comments about youngsters being brought to see this movie. There is probably a good mix of teens/early 20-somethings who remember the movies from TV or their parents played it for them, younger kids whose parents are in their 30s who remember the films from when they were 7 to 10 years old and want to share in the experience and the 25U crowd who just wanted to see dinosaurs on the big screen. Dinosaurs just seem to resonate with the younger crowd. My wife is too young to have seen the original in the theaters, but had loved dinosaurs growing up, loved the movie on VHS as a kid and just about became a kid again when she saw the first Jurassic World trailer.
