Never heard him say that about Sanchez or Rodgers. I bet it was funny though. And there's no way I would have agreed. Normally, we agree on most stuff, but there has been occasions that he's wrong. Frankly, I find his "I'm right, you're wrong" approach entertaining. It's funny to listen to him destroy callers, cut them off, hang up on them, etc. It's all part of the show. If you don't like it, don't listen. Turn the dial.

First, please tell me you are under a licensed and board-certified mental health provider's care.
Cowherd should have been dumped years ago with his sweeping generalization of how and why Sean Taylor died. It was repugnant, patently false and spoke to his mentality that he was right no matter what the facts were. I find most sports talk radio to be abhorrent, ill-informed and repetitive (re: Jim Rome, who can beat a dead horse like no other). I'm trying to convince my attorney, an otherwise extraordinarily intelligent fellow, to find something else to listen to in his vehicle. Hell, even Kenny Chesney is better than sports talk radio. (On second thought ... well, eh, let's not quibble about it).

I have a couple of former co-workers who have an afternoon show that is pretty good. They do not approach it as if they know everything, they have fun with their callers and they don't do the whole "throw some shit on the wall, see what sticks and let's generate some calls" schtick.

You and I have a completely different perception of Colin Cowherd. Fair enough to say we're birds of a different feather. However, that doesn't make either of us worthy of psychiatric incarceration.

Haven't listened to him in years on the radio, as a result of the same generalization comments of others, as well as his logic defying "If A=B, then C=D" analogies, when you could be hard pressed to see where any of A through D warranted classifying together at all.

Was home sick one day and caught the ESPN version of his show, where he was making the point that Joey Votto, despite having a monstrous season, didn't warrant being on the All Star team because he wasn't a 'star'.

    Click.

The one show I do get a kick out of is LeBatard's. Don't listen to it all the time, but they don't take themselves too seriously, mix in a good bit of normal, everyday life type stuff that's often worth a laugh, and they tend to have some pretty compelling interviews: they'll ask the difficult questions you don't see any of the other national softballers come with, or they'll complete take the questions off-target and off-subject where you get some pretty interesting and honest responses to the topic at hand.

Apparently Cowherd is getting a sidekick. Jen Lada of Comcast Sports Net Chicago stated on the Kap and Haugh Show this morming she's joining The Herd in August.

I don't understand why anyone is still listening to sports talk radio rahter than podcasts. So much of talk radio it is hosts trying to generate controversy and fill air time. I think that many of the Grantland podcasts are excellent, especially the Lowe Post. There are many others out there and some can be shockingly good. Solid Verbal, which is hosted by two guys I have never heard of, is excellent.

Colin Cowherd has always done his show "solo" - one of the few in the sports radio business to do that. It will be interesting to see/hear how his show changes with someone else behind a live microphone too.

Hasn't he at least always had some ancillary folks who chime in at times, the way Patrick does? I recall a female he used to go back and forth with when I used to listen. But that was a while ago.

Perhaps it's because I like listening to Cowherd while I'm making treks across the country. Or, perhaps it is because the few podcasts I've listened to have been utterly horrible, which most content that is internet created and driven in this manner typically is. Or, perhaps it's because there is no revenue from advertising to support podcasts like there is talk radio.

Besides, there's nothing worse than listening to some dumbass internet blogger who doesn't know shit about shit yet acts like he's God's gift because he bought a computer and started his own show. No thanks. I'll stick with Cowherd. He's excellent.

I took a college course last fall and found myself driving during Cowherd's slot. It's the only sports channel and we have no music channels I like, so I was stuck with him. It took one day to remember why I stopped listening....no, never listened to in the first place.

The man thinks he is right, facts be damned, and feels he is superior because he is right. Even in my limited listening, I've heard him flip-flop on players/subjects but instead of saying "I've changed my mind" he acts like he never felt the other way in the first place.

And he's admitted he only likes winner but he likes winners so much he looks down at non-winners. Second place and below can just die in a fire as far as he is concerned.
