Supreme Court rules in favor of gay marriage

The religious zealots should be reminded that "It's God's will" applies to everything or nothing.

So God got fed up with racists and bigots this week, right? And God appears to be a loving god. It's God's will!

 

The left is calling names, mocking religion and calling those who disagree wit the decision evil? Where? The left won, so why would they give a shit what the opinion of the right is? Seems to be a bit backward.

 

Just takes a little attention. Political victories bring out the worst in people. And liberals are especially terrible winners. I bet 90 percent of the pro-gay marriage comments I saw yesterday included shots at the political opposition. Often personal shots. The general response was, "Love wins, you stupid assholes."

Like I said, I'm not bothered by this ruling. I am bothered by the unnecessarily shitty attitude and hypocrisy displayed by many of the folks who, like you said, shouldn't be so concerned with constantly one-upping political opponents. But that's the unfortunate nature of American political discourse.

 

Like you, I'm not bothered by the ruling, I'm concerned with more of the "take that" attitude some people are displaying. Now they'll start going after people that don't share their viewpoints. It's not enough we won, we now must convert everybody to our way of thinking.

One or two sparks in the wrong place and the second American Civil War begins. That scares me more than anything.

 

Conservatives are equally shitty winners, too: "You're either with us or against us."

Both sides are shitty losers, too.When you lose sight of compromise, you fuck up most of the country.

This. And some of you guys clearly have the wrong friends. Most of mine are celebrating, not rubbing anyone's face in it. I have seen none of this "take that" attitude you refer to.

 

I imagine it takes a concerted effort NOT to see a wide range of responses on EVERYTHING in the Information Age.

 

Most of my friends are liberals. Is that wrong?

 

I spend quite a bit of time online at work, and most of the negative response I've seen is from the more right-wing Republican candidates. I understand their religious views, but it's time to move on. Seems like a lot more sore losers to me.

 

You mean people are celebrating that a group of people are no longer being discriminated against? The nerve. I'm not limited my celebration to comfort your bigotry. If your beliefs dictate that God hates fags, fine. Let God tell them when they die. Beyond that, it's not your business.

 

They'll never believe that, of course. Because they're RIGHT, dammit.
