I'm not talking about churches. I'm talking about marriage licenses - second ones.

If you are thumping the Bible, thump everything in it.

    Their kids, maybe.

The wife of the husband the non-monogamous wife is fucking, maybe.

    All all their kids, maybe.

Blah. This is America. Do what you want. Let other people worry about the consequences. Kids gotta grow up sometime.

Why would it matter to their kids?

Kids are dumb. If you're an adult, fuck whoever you want. Whenever you want. They won't know the difference. Why should parents think of their kids if what they're doing is not illegal?

Short answer: Because, as much as some want it to be, this country is still not governed by the Bible.

Are you all in the habit of sharing the details of your sex lives with your children?

Maybe it wouldn't. Today's morals and I parted company some time ago. Nothing is wrong anymore. Everything is "alternative."

But I'm Wally Cleaver. On my planet moms and dads are monogamous. Otherwise maybe Fred Rutherford is really the Beaver's dad.

Nobody should keep somebody from doing what makes them happy. Kids are just selfish sometimes and should be a little more tolerant.

I am all for the separation of church and state.

I think in this country we have many more people using the Bible as a tool to get what they want than people actually following the Bible to the letter.

To be very clear about what we're talking about here: An "arrangement" between a married couple, gay or straight, in which they mutually agree that monogamy is not a requirement of the marriage. Also: Unlike the typical marriage, as I now understand it from reading the last few posts, I imagine this couple would not share the sordid details of their sex life with their children.

There's a reason why being non-monogamous is referred to as being "extra-marital." Monogamy, for straights and gays, is part and parcel of the marriage promise. Polygamy just means you're making that same promise to more than one person. Nothing gives you free reign to fuck people completely outside the marriage.
