Yay.three things from the 1970s, which the right has since either tried to get rid of, or neuter.

I thought the line item veto and balanced budget amendment were the cures to all our National ills

Tsar Alexander II freed Russia's slaves before we freed ours. We got nothing to brag about there.

Pollution controls have helped a great many more people --- in more important ways --- than whether Clyde and Steve can file "married filing jointly." Visit Moscow or Beijing if you want to see what life was like before pollution controls.

And ya know something? All these new "married filing jointlys" are going to lessen our federal tax revenues. That means an even greater deficit, which is bad for 100 percent of the people.

Social Security and Medicare. Which, of course, they're working to get rid of.

Good Lord ... It'll be a rounding error. The proportion of people who are homosexual is ridiculously overestimated by both the left and the right.

It's really ridiculous to discuss these parties as they were in the 19th century, for they are in many ways reversals of what they are now.

Forget about the 1864 Republican party. Go to 1964. Barry Goldwater would be called a flaming liberal by today's GOP. It's only a slight coincidence that Goldwater's running mate's daughter is uber-liberal radio talk show host Stephanie Miller.
