That was a surprisingly good movie.

Second one coming out next year, I believe.

Most book readers, including myself, at first hated the idea of Tom Cruise playing Reacher. But, like you said, it was surprisingly good. And Cruise wasn't nearly as miscast as many thought.

The wife added to my bad movie collection with Howard the Duck.

Totally agree. And I hadn't even heard of the books, so I had no preconceived notions that Cruise might (or might not) be miscast. Really liked it.

Just saw "Home" the other day (and several times since, as my 3-year-old loves it) and really liked it. The music was very good and I thought Rhianna did a nice job as Tip.

John Wick: Decent riff on the Taken-style revenge story.
Predestination: Based on a Philip K. Dick short story, it's one twisted-up time travel tale. Solid performances.

I guess John Wick has been on cable a lot recently, because I've heard a LOT of people talking about it. I might check it out tomorrow.

Terminator Genisys. It flies in the face of everything that came before it in terms of the internal story logic. And how does Jai Courtney keep working?

Jurassic World: Pretty fun mashup of Jurassic Park, Aliens and Jaws. Humans and dinosaurs more realistic than the original.

I watched "Against All Odds" in its entirety yesterday. It was interesting to see the late Alex Karras preform such a serious, sometimes dark, role. I also recalled his impressive dramatic performance in the long-ago, made-for-television movie as Babe Didrikson's husband. It all just reminded me that Karras was a versatile talent.

One of the best car races on film; Prime Rachel Ward....

Yeah. Liked that movie. Good Jeff Bridges role, too.
