    John Wick. Entertaining and hilarious.

Trainwreck. Definitely what you would expect if you've seen Amy Schumer's act. Some of it was over the top for the sake of being over the top, but there are some funny moments and some fun cameos.

Escape from LA. The perfect blend of cheesy effects, half-hearted acting and a really bad script.

That "I got a knee" scene was pretty rough.

Agreed, my buddy and I tagged along with our wives who selected this. Really some good moments, LeBron was surprisingly engaging (so was Amare). I view it as the female version of a raunchy guys flick.

Just got back from "Ant-Man" and I enjoyed it. Good story and action, and, as you would guess with Paul Rudd in the lead, probably the most light-hearted of the MCU movies. Worked for me. And if you're wondering, the post-credits scene is well worth the wait.

Saw Ant-Man over the weekend and enjoyed it. Iron Man meets Honey I shrunk the kids, and it worked.

Also watched Ex Machina on Amazon. Kinda freaky.
Kept waiting for Ahnold to show up.

A Walk Among the Tombstones - Nice action, a little violent. Hard to follow, too. Probably going to have to watch it again.
The Great Escape - A classic and powerful. No neat Hollywood ending either. 5o prisoners escape and 3 make it. That scene where the Germans machine gunned the recaptured prisoners was chilling.
Last Vegas - Viva Las Vegas. Can't get enough of this movie. I thought Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Michael Douglas worked really well together. And DeNiro elevates everyone on the screen with him. That little lounge Mary Steenburgen was singing in, that's my kind of place.

Agree. I watched The Great Escape two nights ago. Really a treat, except I kept waiting for Col. Hogan to show up with is zany sidekicks. (Sidebar: my mom would not let us watch Hogan's Heroes because, she said, there was nothing funny about WWII. My dad was in the army and landed at Normandie.) Watching The Great Escape, it seemed to me that the Allied prisoners were treated a little too nice by the Germans. I mean, each time Steve McQueen tried to escape, he was escorted to the cooler. You'd think he'd get his ass beat on the way.
Also agree on the Vegas lounge show. That used to be our evening ritual on Vegas trips. Go do what you want, then we'll all meet in the lounge at 5 for a proper cocktail, listen to some music and then go have dinner. Miss that.

Agree wholeheartedly, though, at this point in his career, I'm not sure if DeNiro elevated the others or if they elevated him. It was a surprisingly fun movie. I think I posted about it earlier in this thread when I first saw it, but I think what struck me is that it mostly resisted making fun of them for being old guys in Las Vegas, and let the viewer laugh with them, instead of at them.

This was a documentary about the bizarre circumstances behind The Islandnof Dr. Moreau, the one with Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer. Fact is stranger than fiction. The whole thing was just so fucked up. I don't even know where to start. Streaming on Netflix.
