    Bought the gun legally:

John Russell "Rusty" Houser methodically shot 11 people in a Lafayette, Louisiana, movie theater on Thursday night using a handgun he legally purchased from an Alabama pawn shop, authorities said Friday.
    ...
The gun Houser used, a Hi-Point .40 caliber semiautomatic pistol, was legally purchased in February 2014 from a pawn shop in Phenix City, Alabama, Craig said, citing the the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Drew Griffin, a senior investigative correspondent for CNN, said it appears Houser was cleared to buy the gun because he didn't have any convictions for serious crimes.

"He just didn't show up on any of the instant background checks," Griffin said.

Even though his mental illness history was long known, including a judge having him committed in 2008:

In April 2008, Houser's wife, Kellie, his daughter and others filed court papers seeking a temporary protective order against Houser, saying he had "perpetrated various acts of family violence" and had a history of manic depression and bi-polar disorder.

At the time, records show, Houser was vehemently opposed to the upcoming marriage of his daughter. A judge had Houser committed...

FBI fuck up allowed Roof to buy a gun.

Why was this guy allowed to legally purchase a gun:

The gun used in the shootings — a .40-caliber, semiautomatic handgun — was legally purchased in February 2014 at a Phenix City, Ala., pawn shop, police said. A legal purchase would mean a background check was done, and experts said Houser’s earlier involuntary commitment for mental illness most likely should have prevented him from making the purchase. It is unclear why he was allowed to buy the weapon.

In 2006, when Houser applied for a concealed-carry permit in Russell County, Ala., the sheriff’s department denied the permit because of a prior arrest for arson and a domestic violence complaint on his record, Sheriff Heath Taylor said at a news conference Friday. In both cases, Houser was never prosecuted; records do not indicate why.

I don't even know if anyone has the right to tears or outrage anymore. This is the America we live in. Only the deluded would think they live somewhere where something like this won't, couldn't or can't happen.

I'm always surprised when otherwise bright people are confused when the NRA, a single issue advocacy group, committed to defending the Second Amendment, does not join in the calls for greater restrictions to the Second Amendment.

The most prolific serial killer in American history was an abortion provider, who was able to get away with victimizing poor black women for years because the abortion industry is regulated less than the fucking taxi industry.

But, I don't recall NARAL/Pro-Choice America, other abortion rights groups, or any pro-Abortion elected officials calling for greater regulation of the abortion industry in light of Dr. Kermit Gosnell's decades ling killing spree.

I seem to remember them all fighting things like requiring Doctors to have admitting privileges at local hospitals, and abortion clinics from meeting the same standards as ambulatory surgical centers.

But, I suppose there are only "common sense" reforms available for gun issues, but not for abortion.

All that's missing is a reference to Clinton's dick but, yes, gun control and abortion are exactly the same issues in every way except for the fact that they have nothing in common at all.

If used correctly, innocent people die. No, nothing in common.

Shouldn't movie theater ushers be armed? Any suspicious person who rise from their seat without their hand clearly intertwined above their heads is fair game to be shot by the 16 year old high school minimum wage employee. Fuck the flashlight, Glocks only!

I didn't realize the issues had to be exactly the same in every way in order to draw a comparison.

But, let's take a deeper dive...

    1. Both are Constitutionally guaranteed rights
    B. Both have single issue advocacy groups dedicated to ensuring these rights, and preventing any new regulations
    3. Each organization, and their supporters, "own" politicians, who are terrified of opposing these groups

Now, why is it that liberals are only offended when the NRA "owns" politicians? There used to be tons of pro-life Democrats. Now, you can't be anything but all in for Big Abortion and survive in the modern Democratic party, especially on a national level.

And, only one of these organizations is ever expected to not only not fight new regulations to the constitutionally guaranteed right they exist to defend, but indeed to join forces with those who oppose this right to enact "common sense reform".

Is there no "common sense reform" that could be embraced by Big Abortion?

We didn't see any after Kermit Gosnell was exposed as the most prolific serial killer in American history. Now we see that Planned Parenthood is engaged in selling baby parts for profit, and the only outrage on the left is against those who brought evidence of this to light.

Big Abortion is vehemently opposed to showing a prospective mother an ultrasound of her unborn baby, but is perfectly happy to use it to make sure they deliver the baby in the least "crunchy" way possible, before killing it, in order to better harvest valuable organs.

But, somehow it's impossible to seek any common ground on some "common sense" reforms to these practices.

I think Nationwide should make a new commercial about it.
