Playing cards from 100 yards isn't difficult with today's technology. Hitting a target the size of a baseball from 25 yards when your adrenaline is pumping is a different story. Illegally hunting dangerous game probably ramps up the difficulty too.

Agree with what you say, based on my long-ago experiences. Legal, to be clear.

Check out what the friend in the second article has to say about Walt.

That line about taking game at 100 yards with a bow shocked me. I used to use a 75-pound draw bow and I'd never try anything longer than 50. Then I dropped to a 55-pound draw and won't shoot anything past 25. I've watched some very nice deer walk past at 40 yards with the only shot I took with my camera.

But those big-game hunters are an odd lot. Obviously.

Personally, I like the pictures more than the stories. Poin forever! Long live poin!

But my god, experience counts for something.

So, out of curiosity, why does this matter? Regardless of whether he had skills with the bow or sucked ass with the bow, I fail to see how it makes any difference whatsoever in terms of the underlying issues and questions of right or wrong. Seems to me your links are entirely irrelevant to the issues raised by this story.

Nothing like getting pissed off at a poster you agree with. Good ol' Stoney.

    Cool.

I'm in the comments section of the newspaper, now.

I'm not pissed off (at least not any more than my normal level of piss offed-ness), I was just genuinely curious what was the point of those links. So he's a cracker jack shot with a bow, does that in any way make a difference in anything anyone has said about this story?
