Campaign finance reform will always be partisan, and vulnerable to cheating just as much as player pay in the NCAA.
But if you want real campaign finance reform, limit this political side show to three months of a campaign instead of the 24-month, starts just as the midterms end reality TV program.

I'd be perfectly in favor of that, plus limits on how much can be donated in an election. Everyone gets the same opportunity for free speech, and can have the same amount of free speech if they so choose.

And I'm sure you'd be perfectly fine with public-sector unions not being allowed to spend a dime in political advocacy.

Baron will need to "baron" public-sector unions and political advocacy.

    Certainly.

The same for businesses, corporations and non-profits.

Every individual is allowed to donate up to $100 per local candidate, $500 per state candidate, $1,000 per federal candidate if they so choose. Congressional candidates limited to spending $250K of their own money, senatorial candidates limited to $500K and presidential candidates up to $1 million.

Any political candidate goes over that amount, they get a day in prison per thousand dollars that they go over, and they forfeit their position, and all pay and benefits that go along with it.

Problems solved, and everyone still has their ability to have free speech.

That may be -- no check that, that is -- the most intellectually honest post you've ever made. It's stupid, of course, and it'd never pass constitutional muster ... but at least it's not obtusely self-serving.

This focus group with NH voters on the subject of Trump is AMAZING.

Probably the link you were looking for...

What would be "amazing" is if they got these 11 people after talking to 20. I'm guessing they had to talk to 35-40 people to find 11 Trump supporters.

Won't pass Constitutional muster? Probably. But what is so stupid about it?

It gets rid of the corrupting influence of money with our politicians, and allows everyone a chance to express themselves through "free speech".
