I wonder what happened the next time the two teams faced each other?

    And when, exactly, was that?

    3, you're a football guy.

Look at what the Viking offense was.

It wasn't three yards and a cloud of dust.

And before any of you people tag me as a fan buoy, don't.

I'd post a picture of a fan and a buoy like Fenian use to, but I don't care enough to go to the trouble.

The thing about Kramer still having to wait is that the Seniors Committee won't nominate him again because he's had so many chances.

    He's been a finalist 10 times -- as a regular one in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1984 and 1987 before being the Senior's pick in 1997 -- and so the thinking is, why put him up again?

And since he was last nominated in 97, there have been 28 Senior candidates. 26 of them have been put in (and one guy they didn't, Claude Humphrey, they nominated five years later and put him in). The only Senior candidate to not make it since 1998 is Marshall Goldberg, who was a Senior guy for the second time in 2008 after a first crack in 1979. His resume isn't close to Kramer's. And the three years before him they put in the Senior pick.

And since Kramer was last a finalist, the Seniors have put in four linemen -- Billy Shaw, Bob Brown, Rayfield Wright and Gene Hickerson -- with Hickerson and Brown also being first-team all-decade 1960s linemen.

    Kramer wasn't a Steeler. Duh.

Kramer is one of the most puzzling non-picks of all time. He was named to the NFL's all-time team in 1969....50th anniversary, yet a few years later couldn't get the votes. The two theories I have heard:
    A. Some of the voters considered him overrated because he was a packer and the sweep and the kicking part...and in the end of he wasn't that good.
    B. Jealousy. Some of the writers didn't like that Kramer's books sold better than theirs.

I am inclined to believe B led to A.

    Machine Head-
No more than anybody else, I just study more than the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tingelhoff is before my time (my honey hole is 80s/90s), but why did he avoid a rare moment to speak to young(er) fans who know him only by name?
    Why did he not speak?

I think it was someone on ESPN who explained it. He has issues with short term memory.

I was afraid that might be the case.
