The team's Facebook page says it's a broken jaw that requires surgery.

It also says this: We have signed CB Javier Arenas and released LB Ikemefuna Enemkpali.

Sorry Machine Head, but I guess I'm a little slow on the uptake. I'm not comprehending your points.

Last time a Jets LB seriously hurt a starting QB, the replacement was Tom Brady.

That guy is going to have to learn how to live on $400 a week. In the Arena League.

Mark Craig of the Strib from 2013 on Tingelhoff:

Craig: Tingelhoff has another shot at Hall of Fame - StarTribune.com

They should. Tingelhoff made the Associated Press’ first-team All-Pro squad five times in six years from 1964 to ’69. That’s equal to or more than four of the seven modern-era Hall of Famers who played their entire careers as a center only.

    Butkus:

“I remember the games against Dick Butkus and the Bears,” Tingelhoff said. “We used to call him, ‘Dickie Do’ and he’d get mad and show me one of his fingers.”

Let’s just say Dick wasn’t signaling No. 1.

“Dick was a great player and a good guy, I found out later,” Tingelhoff said. “I played in the Pro Bowl out in Los Angeles one year. I get there and here comes Dick Butkus. He was my roommate.”

I mentioned the following a couple of years ago and it, possibly, supports your assertion: In the late 1980s, the wife of a prominent Packers employee told me jealousy was a major factor in Kramer's lack of popularity. She wasn't specific and I assumed it was jealousy from former teammates and opponents of the era. But in "Distant Replay" Kramer was granted a lot of access to former teammates leading me to believe he was on good terms with most of them. That would seem to dispel my original assumption, other than whether lingering jealousy is a factor with the Seniors Committee.

They probably remembered Mike Webster's speech at the Hall. One of the saddest speeches ever. He quickly lost his train of thought and just kept rambling.

If that's even an option. Lost two teams Monday, and one of those wasn't allowed into the playoffs.

From what I have gathered from interviews and from my own reading - Brown was the best of those four, Kramer and Hickerson were considered equals in ability and both better than Wright. Don't know enough about Shaw to have an opinion.
