    A reporter with a bad BS filter should not be a reporter.

    It's one of the many skills needed in sports reporting.

    I'm assuming this was in an incident report. Documented. I'm also assuming there were photos in said incident report. And, I'm assuming the reporter actually saw the incident report. But this is not speculation - it's very easily provable or refutable. It's black and white.

    Again, if I'm wrong, I'll gladly say it shouldn't have been reported.

    By employing the tricky triple positive in that statement, you are, of course, aware your true subtext is:
    Most women who claim they were raped don't even know what rape is.

    I wouldn't say "most," and that's not the subtext. The statement says what it says and not more.
