Your wife obviously isn't a sports reporter. Only sports guys know after they've been subjected to it.

There used to be something called "comp time" for sports writers in the summer. I guess maybe a few lawsuits threw that by the wayside.

Comp time is generally illegal for workers eligible for overtime.

There have been times when working eight to 10 hours a day for seven days a week felt like light duty.

My problem is you using profanity directed to me on these threads. Quit insulting me and attacking me with your comments.

And to top it all off, sports writers/editors normally have to also download stories and photos for their websites, which takes another half-hour or hour and can surely put someone into overtime if they're working six days a week like myself. After you turn in OT too much, they ultimately get rid of you. I had a boss tell me he didn't want me to work more than 45 hours, and then my insubordinate assistant had a problem with that, even though he had to work most of the day on Saturday to get his 40 hours because he refused to come into work until after 5 p.m. daily because he had to work desk on Saturdays. I covered the college games on Saturday, while also editing his stories that he would email me. I didn't hire my assistant, which makes it difficult when they never told him I was the sports editor until I introduced myself as that when I first met him.
