I believe that you believe that he believes he is correct.

Do you believe she was raped? Or do you believe she believes she was raped? Because there is a difference and I'm sure that you're quite aware of it.

Right. But I think we can still learn from it by discussing where they fucked up and where they didn't.

I don't know whether she was raped. The amount of evidence available at this point is inconclusive.

I do believe that she believes she was raped, based upon the absence of "red flags" in what has come out about her actions subsequent to the incident, along with the general evidence that accusers do not frequently lie about being raped.

You said no one else was willing to say what they believed. That's what I believe.

You'll notice I said, "think," not "know." If the facts prove otherwise, I'll be the first to admit it. But I doubt they will.

And, I doubt Kane's "life is over" regardless of how the investigation turns out. Unless he offs himself, of course.

I don't think anyone knows enough to have anything but an extremely ill-informed opinion at this point.

The difference is I'm not being quoted in a newspaper of record. Nor should I be.

Why can the man "know" in case #2, but the woman can never know ? She can only "believe" ?
