I have wondered how the league gets around that as well. My sister was a probation officer in another state for a guy who played for the Broncos, and he had a medical marijuana card from Colo. He still had to pass his drug tests. Odd how all that works.

I'm amazed they still bust players for this.

    Why?

Because in some parts of the country, what they are doing is perfectly legal.

And in most parts it's not.

There's also the fact that employers can still drug test regardless of state law.

True, but this league loses enough of it's stars to injury, why take some more out for weed?

Because when you pay someone millions of dollars, it 's valid to expect them to follow a few simple rules.

And most NFL players are tested once a year and know well in advance when it will be. Anyone flunking such a test should get an extra four games for outright stupidity.

I'd rather them getting stoned than drunk.

But you are right about them should be smarter.

Eagles have 39 points and counting in the third quarter of their preseason game tonight against the Packers. That's after scoring 36 and 40 against the Colts and Ravens, respectively.
I know it's preseason and all, but is it possible Chip Kelly really is a genius and trading away all of his good players and assembling the League of Extraordinarily Mediocre Quarterbacks was the answer?
