Forget how large the contracts are or how stupid the players have to be to get busted. They signed on for these rules and their union agreed to these consequences.

There are a bunch of fake Ian Rapoport Twitter accounts out there. Tonight one of them said that Packers receiver Randall Cobb would miss 6-8 weeks, which is not the case. And a friend and former colleague retweeted it.

If you have so little in your life that you create fake accounts to mimic real accounts and pass off bad information, you are most definitely an asshole.

Actually, that's on idiot sportswriters who don't verify that which they blindly retweet.

Yes, verify before you retweet. That still doesn't make the fake not an asshole.

All right, now the season can start.

High-ranking Washington Redskins front-office officials and coaches want to part ways with quarterback Robert Griffin III, but are meeting resistance from team ownership, according to team and league sources.

The Redskins even have had trade conversations about Griffin with a handful of NFL teams, but have found no interest, and it remains unclear whether ownership would allow Washington to trade him, sources said.

With any luck, this'll all be over tomorrow, when first cuts are made, or next week, when final cuts are made.

Daniel Snyder isn’t blocking a trade, but Robert Griffin III might not bring much in return

Two people with knowledge of the team’s planning each said Snyder is not blocking his front office and coaching staff from trading Griffin. One called an ESPN report that suggested that, “100 percent wrong.”
But that person stopped short of saying that Griffin will not be traded or released, saying that is up to Gruden.
“It’s up to the coach and everyone is on board with that,” the person said.

So, if a team wants to trade for Griffin, it would be on the hook for next year's $16 million option that the Redskins already exercised, right?

This might just be the most Redskins thing, ever.

Only if he's injured and can't pass an end-of-year physical. But yeah.

Hopefully, they just cut him this week and be done with it.

He'd be a good fit with the Texans, except he never played with the Patriots.
