The Obama administration has deported more immigrants than the previous administration. I fail to see how that's "refusing to enforce immigration laws."

The argument is that the Bible prohibits same sex marriage. It does.

The Bible does not require slavery. Even under the most tortured antebellum interpretation, it merely approved of it.

What does The Biscuit Bible say about it?

The Bible, particularly the Old Testament, prohibits and condemns lots of things that the vast majority of Christians have no problems with whatsoever.

    Or, better yet:

Are illegal immigrants coming to courthouses asking to be turned gay?

OK. But my point is, I keep seeing it said that history will recall her the way history recalls segregationists. I disagree. She's driven by what remains an almost uniformly held mainstream religious viewpoint.

One has a legal outlet to defy the law. The other one doesn't.

Not obeying the law is bad, unless you can get away with it. #Baronstrikesagain

Widespread? Sure. But uniformly held? As is the case within the Christian church as a whole on almost any belief, that's false. You have two of the most influential denominations in our country - Presbyterians and Episcopalians - that recognize gay marriage. They are joined by, or perhaps even led by on this issue, the United Church of Christ and Unitarians. There are even multiple Baptist churches in my little corner of the South that have broken with their conventions and are recognizing gay marriage. There are literally millions of American Christians who are fine with gay marriage. They are in the minority, but they are not inconsequential either.
