Supreme Court rules in favor of gay marriage

    Why is it so hard to just take religion entirely out of the equation? You know, separation of church and state, and all that. It really should be that simple and shouldn't be a partisan position.

    People are opposed to gay marriage because of religious beliefs, therefore those beliefs should have no impact on the laws of the land.

    A significant portion of this country is foolishly concerned about Sharia, but doesn't seem to understand the hypocrisy of denying marriage to homosexuals for religious reasons.

    It's the same principle. Using religious beliefs to form laws. We don't do that. That's what makes us better, remember?

    Address the point.

    Sure, Sharia is different in severity, but it's the same principle as denying legal rights to gay couples through marriage because because it goes against what is in the Bible.
