Does "Winds of Change" really count as a power ballad, though? It's not really a ballad in the traditional sense. It's just a different kind of song.

My two nominees aren't as well knownl because they were before Scorps "hit" but I prefer Holiday (Lovedrive, 1979) and Lady Starlight (Animal Magnetism, 1980).

1. Led Zeppelin 6/23/77 - Oakland Coliseum (they played for 3 1/2 hours before 54,000. Simply incredible show. Part of the fence to the Coliseum parking lot was flattened many hours before the show).
2. Rush 9/24/77 - Winterland in San Francisco (hearing 2112 played live, words can't describe it)
3. Page and Plant - 3/1/95 Omni, Atlanta (backed by London's Metropolitan Orchestra. Fantastic show)
4. Van Halen - 9/25/95 Blockbuster Pavilion in Charlotte (Sammy jumping off an amp was a sight to see)
5. Van Halen - 6/11/2004 Greensboro Coliseum (Eddie tearing up during lengthy standing ovation following guitar solo)

Well, that's embarrassing. Especially since "Silent Lucidity" was my initial pick, which I replaced when I remembered that, too, was released in the 1990s.

I guess I'd add Bon Jovi's "Never Say Goodbye" as No. 5.

 

Great list with very movable parts among the top four. Van Halen stays in fifth.
