Perhaps you're forgetting that this is Kentucky.

Except a court hasn't said incestuous marriage is legal. I'm pretty sure it's still illegal for them to marry, even in Kentucky. A court has said same-sex marriage is legal, so she is not doing her job.

Old Tony is on the homophobic cliche tour.

Being gay is a choice? Check. Comparing it to incest? Check.

    Next up is bestiality.

It is Constitutionally impermissible for her to refuse to issue a license for this reason. It's not different, legally, than refusing to issue a license to an interracial couple. She's representing the state, taking a state action. If she worked as a waitress, she could certainly refuse to serve them. She doesn't. She works for the government.

Ah, the old "incest" argument. What's next, the "Can I marry my dog?" argument?

And to answer your question, incest is banned because the government has a vested interest in not sanctioning relationships in which there is a higher risk of children born with birth defects. They don't have a vested interest in not sanctioning gay marriages, beyond some people thinking that it's icky.

I watch Cruz and Huckabee cozying up to her for the cameras and it looks an awful lot like the segregationist politicians doing the same thing with those who resisted integrated schools back in the day.

Then there's Huck offering to go to jail for her, when he knows that there is no possible way that could happen. Pander much?

And, in the process, she's not carrying out the duties for which she was elected. Care to answer the question?

Does Kim Davis have a sincerely held religious belief that heterosexual couples should not be allowed to marry because homosexuality is a sin? Or is she trampling on the rights of all of the constituents in her county, including those who voted her into office, by not authorizing any marriages?

Yeah, that was a gutless, empty gesture. He knows he's not going to jail. He should chain himself to the front of the clerk's office to prevent gay people from getting in. Then he can go to jail.

Fuckaboy hasn't gone to jail for any of his many many close warm pedophile friends -- yet.

We're talking past one another. I'm not arguing theology. I took your post re: dietary restrictions as one of those jejune* swipes leveled at Christians by ostensibly "enlightened" people who think they're being so clever but they're really showing just how ignorant they are. I infer from your subsequent posts that I was mistaken to do so. Peace.
