We used a league we paid for once, maybe EA Sports(?) We've used a bunch, including ESPN. None are as user-friendly as Yahoo. So easy to find players, by any position, by who's on waivers. who's on someone's roster, by their rankings. And you can sort the players by any stat category, their preseason rankings, current rankings, etc. I have seen no other site that works better, though I'm sure they're out there. We just got tired of trying to fix something that isn't broken. Oh, and I have all my trophies/past rosters/standings/etc for most of the past 15 years (aside from the previously mentioned defection years) accessible on the site. So when I'm feeling bad about myself, I can get a little pick-me-up. Glory days, indeed. :)

I drafted Johnson in a couple leagues just in case Ellington got banged up.

Well, Anderson was a much higher pick, so if he busts, you should feel it more.

The DFS ads are kind of jarring, particularly on the mobile app. They've never had anything like that before.

Broken foot for Dez Bryant. Likely to miss 6 weeks.

Should have asked you already but what kind of league is this that Witten was not drafted? He's a top 5 TE. And keep an eye on Eifert.

I just joined a dynasty league that uses that site and I hate it with a passion. It's just an awful, outdated user interface that is difficult to navigate. Being the new guy, I can't exactly tell everyone they should switch to Yahoo or ESPN after they've been using this site for 10 years, but man, it's fucking awful.

Yahoo is probably the best, with ESPN running second in my experience.

That's one thing with my league settings now. Every free agent is on waivers during the games, so if you want to grab someone, you have to put in a waiver claim until a day after all games are finished and hope nobody ahead of you in line also makes the same claim. If nobody claims him, he's yours, or if he goes through without anyone claiming him, he's a free agent again.

It was done to prevent guys from seeing someone get hurt on TV, then running to grab his backup two plays after the starter gets hurt. It makes things more fair, I guess, but it takes some of the fun out of it.

See if your commissioner will entertain the idea of FAAB waivers - basically auction bidding on free agents. Everyone has a budget (say, $100) that they can spend over the course of the year however they see fit. You can blow your entire $100 at the beginning or wait to see what late-season guys emerge. Adds a little more gamesmanship to it.

Maybe I liked it better because we started using it in the mid-2000s. By the time our league died in 2013, it was familiar to all of us that had been in the league for years so the interface wasn't an issue.
We also had some unusual scoring rules (like bonuses for longer touchdowns and double points for "off-brand" touchdowns like a RB catching a pass) that everyone loved but were hard to duplicate in the Yahoo settings.

That site works better than it looks.
