Are Republicans particularly susceptible to a celebrity candidate? Or would it be the asme on the other side if George Clooney or Ben Affleck we're running.

A "throw the bums out" election if we've ever seen one.

Well, the current leading Dem "celebrity politician," Al Franken, has surprisingly kept a pretty low profile and generally been a pretty effective, hands-on senator. He hasn't been doing renditions of Stuart Smalley on the Senate floor.

It'd be kinda interesting to see Trump as the Republicans' "celebrity" candidate, considering that they complained that Obama was a "CELEBRITY!" in 2008.

CNN has done 2,159 stories on Trump in the last three months, June 16 to Sept. 14.

Jeb and Cruz combined for about 1,500. None of the other GOP candidates got more than 400.

Have Clooney or Afflec run a business? What credibility do they have?

And, btw, in 2008, what was Obama other than a celebrity?

Trump makes news. He does (multiple) interviews nearly every day.
