    Technically, it sounds like they couldn't reach a contract agreement. But since it's Loopy, a layoff sounds fine to me.

    Bloody hell.
    The NYDN has long been one of the country's best sports section. I'd argue its game coverage, how it handled big events, columns, enterprise and, especially, its investigative reporting -- all made it THE best sports section, especially when you consider the amount of teams in the area and the crazy deadlines.
    This is just devastating, for those let go and for the reader.
