    I'll keep pushing for that penalty box.
    It's an interesting aspect of hockey. It would be interesting here, too.

    That would be 1960, when Kennedy had to assure everyone he wouldn't be answering to the Pope.

    Al Smith was the first Catholic to be nominated, but the country wasn't exactly ready for it in 1928.

    I hate seeing threads/posts get nuked. I'd rather we all be able to see what transpired to get a thread locked rather than pretending it didn't happen.

    In that thread's case, the two posters could have been thrown in the penalty box (with a public TICKER!) early on, the rest of the posters could continue the discussion, and the board would be aware of the actions and repercussions.

    And today, we have several candidates, including almost all of them from one party, proudly proclaiming they WOULD make presidential decisions based strictly on the tenets of their religion.

    Which, of course, isn't the same thing as answering to an authority figure here on earth.

    And, of course, they wouldn't be the first president to do that.
