Tough to say. I can't remember ever seeing a baseball player throw a decent punch.

    Robin Ventura, meet Nolan Ryan.

Sorry about that. Both good examples that didn't immediately come to me. It's just that when I think of baseball fights that go beyond pushing and shoving, I picture a bunch of awkward overhand slaps.

Ventura said it was nothing more than "a couple of noogies" ...

Funny how right before he got to the mound, Ventura slowed down as if he said, Oh, shit, what have I gotten myself into now? But, man, his haircut was spectacular.

Strawberry almost knocked Armando Benitez's damn head off. At 2:00 in the video, you see him come in from the lower left portion of the screen and throw a vicious left hook. The replay with a front angle is at 6:00.

Watching that full video again, a couple things:
    1) Scott Brosius was afraid of getting hit by Benitez
    2) Graeme Lloyd earned his pinstripes that day
    3) Tino Martinez looks maniacal when he's mad
    4) Don't fuck with Darryl Strawberry

I don't think I'd ever seen the Strawberry shot on Benitez. Actually tough to root for either of those guys in that one.

Also, I noticed that when Brosius is kind of tied up with Benitez, it looked like Joe Carter (I'd forgotten he even played in Baltimore) tried to run Brosius from behind but eased up right at the last second, but then with a couple of Orioles tried to drag him into the dugout instead.

Finally, I really wish somebody would have clocked Chad Curtis during that whole thing.

Since we're on baseball fights, this is my favorite (it happened on my 11th birthday):

The best part is at the 2-minute mark, when the fans are jumping out of the stands to fight with San Diego's Champ Summers.

Then shut him down for the season then.

That seems extreme. Players get injured sprinting to first base. Why shut him down when, instead, he can escape possible injury by simply jogging out pop-ups that are caught probably 99.9 percent of the time? Win-win.
