    Papelbon's hand looks effeminate.

I'm absolutely stunned Piscotty got out of that with a facial bruise.

I'm betting there's a pretty significant concussion involved, too. He was clearly out cold.

    How about some baseball armageddon?

The Astros, Rangers, Angels and Twins all finish in a flat-footed four-way tie. You have the AL West championship to decide as well as the second wild card. How do you un-fuck that mess?

Angels doing their best to keep that possibility alive. Walk off over the A's tonight and with the Rangers losing, the top three in the AL West are within two games of each other.

Giants beat Dodgers 3-2 in 12, stay in the NL West race for at least one more day.

Dodgers have lost eight of their last 10. Not exactly inspiring play heading into the playoffs.

On another note, looks like the SJ upset special for the Cy Young is still alive. Grenkie 7ip 2er 4h 3BB 7K in a no decision. Not like he was bad tonight, but the offense didn't help him out to get a win. Still my favorite to win the award, but will concede the gap is closing.

Greinke's ERA stands at 1.68. Arrieta is down to 1.82. Each is scheduled to make one more start in the regular season. Even at this range, you might have to go with Arrieta due to his superiority in innings pitched and strikeouts.

The innings pitched difference is nothing. It's 8.1 innings. It's basically the fact that Greinke skipped a start for the birth of his kid.

GS IP H R ER BB SO W L WAR WHIP ERA
    1 Zack Greinke 31 214.2 144 42 40 39 192 18 3 8.8 0.85 1.68
    2 Jake Arrieta 32 223.0 148 52 45 48 229 21 6 8.3 0.88 1.82
