So insurance companies love Planned Parenthood. It helps their bottom line, without question.

Who else saves money? Taxpayers.

Every 25 bodies (hopefully these are the largest kindergarten classes we have in America), means a new teacher. A new teacher costs the school division between $40,000 and $60,000 a year once you factor in benefits. So let's use a ratio of $2,000 per child. That child will attend school for 13 years, so there is $26,000 just in school costs if you look at it that way. Every 800 or so new kids means a new elementary, those cost about $30,000,000. Every 1,200 students means a new middle school, those are about $80,000,000. Every 3,000 or so students means a new high school, those cost about $150,000,000.

But, schools get state funding for every child that's enrolled. It's around $7,000 per child in Virginia, so thats $91,000 for that child's educational career.

I'm not even going to mention if the child has trouble with the law.

So, if you are really in the TEA crowd, Planned Parenthood saves a boatload of tax dollars in the long run.

 

Nobody said there wasn't anything wrong with abortion. What is wrong is when women are told what medical decisions they are allowed to make.

Soldiers kill fellow American hero and former NFL player, claim fog of war.

And so on. Insanity, diminished responsibility, intoxication, error in judgment, duress, provocation, etc.

 

Those are either accidents or acts in self-defense.

 

What I'd really like to know is an estimate of how many single-issue voters there are on these topics and what their partisan/ideological breakdown is.

 

The opposite of these stances, fewer government restrictions on everything, explains why the Libertarian Party is universally considered "interesting" or "thought-provoking" but irrelevant in real terms. Conservatives love the Libertarian position on guns but hate the one on abortion.

 

They're homicides. They're justified. That was your criteria. To some, abortion to save the life of the mother is justified. To others, abortion to relieve the woman the burden of carrying around her rapist's child is justified. And to still others abortion just because "I don't wanna deal with this shit" is justified. Want to argue with some of these people --- especially the latter group? --- be my guest.

 

Chicago had 500 homicides in 2012. The entire state of Illinois had 744.

That took about 10 seconds to verify.

As stupid and futile as this "debate" already is, we should still refrain from just throwing shit at the wall.
