There are plenty of anti-abortion libertarians. The LP's 2008 presidential nominee is decidedly anti-abortion.

Imagine home much money we could save if we could kill even more black babies in utero:

Of course. But as a matter of principle, it makes no sense at all.

    How do you figure?

If you could end o% of abortions, 90% of abortions, or hold out for and an end to 100% of abortions, though it might never happen, what's the "principled" decision?

I understand that the ends justify the means. But, morally, in a non-political vacuum, that exception makes no sense.

In a non-political vacuum, there wouldn't be a need for the exception.

And, folks of all political stripes make similar exceptions on issues that matter to them.

    This is so perfectly stated.

All that information out there, and all the "smart" and high-achieving people in the pro-choice crowd still don't know how to prevent pregnancy without help from the government.

OK, but I guess what I'm wondering is: Do abortion rights opponents actually believe that there SHOULD be an exception for rape? It seems like when they say there shouldn't be, outrage follows. It's a view outside the mainstream. Why?

Also, the idea that 10% of abortions are because of rape or incest is about 9.8% too high.
