Backing Trump isn't about backing a party or a set of principles. It's about having a hissy fit in public.

They might not have, but Kelo was a big rallying cry among conservatives, and especially on talk radio.

Folks like Rush, Laura Ingraham, and Mark Levin were all up in arms about it. Each of these hosts has given Trump favorable coverage, thought they haven't endorsed him. And, it's driving mainstream Republicans insane.

Trump can do no wrong in his supporters eyes, and it is in large part because his supporters do want to punish the party leaders.

Ninety-nine percent of Trump's supporters think Kelo was the guy staying in O.J. Simpson's guest house.

Watching all the experts try to read the tea leaves and tell us what's going to happen amuses me very much.

I guess they figure if they keep saying Trump is done every month, eventually they'll be right. And they probably will. Maybe.

How about this? Let it play out and see what happens.

It happens every campaign. Right wing show hosts will slobber over whoever's leading the polls and will move on to slobber over the next flavor of the month. All along they'll rail against the moderate favorite (W, McCain, Romney) until they win the nomination, then it's all aboard.

This was a throwaway graf in a Salon article about Hillary, but it made my blood run cold. For the first time, I can actually see a way Trump wins.
