I was too horrified to bring it up. You're reproducing?

Congrats all the same. My money's on Clinton. :)

You deserve a break today ... because soon you'll never get another one.

    Congratulations YF.

I thought their Cheddar Melt, with the whole-wheat bun and onions, was delicious. They made a habit of bringing that back every year for a month and taking it away again.

I noticed it but I figured you either had announced it or would announce it all in due time. Congrats.

That's another thing I really don't get. If you're going to say something is good, why is it only available for short periods? They do this all the time with McRib (which I tried once and wasn't impressed with). The people who like them really, really like them. So why would they not have it all the time?

By the way, along with the Filet O' Fish of the 1970s, another all-time favorite from McDonald's was their old Arctic Orange shakes. Those things were like crack for me.

"Daddy, what made you and Mommy decide you wanted to have me as a baby?"

"Well, you see, Clintonia, there was this anonymous message board that Daddy spent a lot of time on when he wasn't fixing the coffee machines. But one day, I was told to take a break for a few days."

"A break from the board? Why, Daddy?"

"Because Clintonia, I kept posting about President Clinton."

"But why Daddy? After all, she is our president."

"Not her, Clintonia, her husband. He did a lot of bad things when he was president."

    "Like what?"

"Well, there was that land deal, and um, some other things with women that you're, um, too young to know about. Hey, here's a crossword puzzle from the New York Times. Five letters, begins with O. Former president ..."

"So you named me after the former President?"

    "Well, uh .... Kinda."

"So what did you and Mommy do during the break from the board? Did you do something fun?"

"Here, Honey, have a few more Chicken McNuggets."*

    * Congrats YF, and good luck.

Congrats, YF. Best thing ever to happen to you.

Back on topic (sort of), I have eaten at CFA easily more than 200 times around the country and have never had a cashier try to chat with me. Ever. Also, the ethnic makeup of the cashier crew has generally matched that of the locale.
