I try to find a strong one and stay with it. Last season I rode the Eagles -- the year before that, the Chiefs (except when they played Denver). To me, that works better than picking through whatever flotsam and jetsam is floating around each week, especially when you're low in the waiver order.

I wouldn't blame you for worrying. But those matchups for the defenses you mentioned don't make a change automatic. It also depends on what you would have to drop. If you have someone you want to drop anyway, pull the trigger and give it some thought for a day or so.

The Brees-for-Davis trade got vetoed. Someone noticed it and raised a stink, even though the guy giving up Brees was the one who proposed the trade. I explained what happened on the league's message board, concluding by saying "What was I supposed to do, reject it twice?" The person who raised a fuss said "Yes."
Bunch of whiny assholes in this league. Half of them can't even show up for the draft when it's been on the calendar for three weeks, but they fucking throw up the "Avengers Assemble!" war cry to veto a trade.

That's bullshit. I wouldn't even have explained anything other than, "He made the offer and I accepted." The weirdness that happened in between didn't need to be explained (I'm assuming they couldn't have known about it).

Did the guy who proposed the trade say anything?

Not on the message board. It's a bunch of old college friends and acquaintances (me and the proposer fall into the latter category), so I don't even know how to get in touch with him to ask him about it.

I see what you're saying, but with that trade if I'm in the league I'm thinking that clown is making a side deal with you. Can definitely understand why you're upset, but if you saw someone else offered Davis for Brees wouldn't you think WTF?

If you have the spot, pick up the Redskins defense and stash the Jets for the week. The Skins have been surprisingly consistent in the 7-10 point range all year, and Tampa is turnover prone. I wouldn't drop anyone you want to use later to make the move, but playing anyone against the Patriots seems like screaming for a zero or negative points.

Oh, no doubt it's an awful trade. But the people in this league know each other well enough to know that the proposer and I probably wouldn't make any side deals. I probably haven't seen more than one of these people in person in 10 years, and I think all of them know that.

I'm 4-2 in two leagues and 3-3 in another and all three of my teams are totally shitty. Devonta Freeman is carrying two of them, and Beckham, Julio Jones and Cam Newton are about my only worthy players on one of the 4-2 teams.

I'm trying to flip Freeman for two studs in one league, with no success. Everyone remains skeptical of him even though he's been dominating for six weeks.

I'm hoping the Redskins employ the same scheme against Mike Evans this year.

He might not put up any 3-TD games the rest of the way, but he's the fantasy MVP so far. Should continue to be a consistent scorer. Having said that, I'm sure most owners are hesitant to give up TWO studs to get him.

You're right, of course. However, there are two guys (one is fourth, the other is tied with me at fifth) who have studs on their benches, so I've been trying to impress upon them those points are being wasted and Freeman would improve their overall weekly scoring (though they'd lose depth).
