It's much more offensive than anything any of us supposedly more ignorant, racist people have tried to say in our attempts to answer DW's questions and make some points (while DW answers no questions and we only have YF guessing at what points DW's trying to make).

I'm sorry there's no perfect, all-knowing and unbiased way to talk about this type of stuff -- we all are products of our own personal experiences, outlooks and personalities -- but having a bias or not exactly the same history as someone else is not the same as being racist or offensive, and doesn't preclude people from having at least some understanding of and empathy and sympathy for others.

As far as I'm concerned, DW has shown himself to be more of a racist than anybody else, and he sees himself as more inferior than he thinks any of us think he is.

The only point anybody's trying to make with any sort of "bootstraps" thought is that, you know what, as awful as blacks' history was in the U.S. in the beginning -- and yes, it was horrible -- it nonetheless does no one any good whatsoever to wallow in the horror -- and in the racism.

That's what I think DW is doing in this thread, and what he has tried to make everyone do, when there really is no need to do so. Whatever he's attempting to do, it isn't helpful. Indeed, it only makes everything worse, and he certainly looks worse.

All of that said, I absolutely would not want to see him banned. Who wants that?

My bet is, nobody.
