Noticed there were a lot of weird gaps in the conversation. Figured someone was gettin' a heavy dose of NQT.

You don't get it, do you? This isn't about my side vs. yours, Republicans vs. Democrats. They all suck. They all spend too much. Bush was a horrible president. So is Obama. The Democrats in Congress want to throw money at every problem they see, and a large percentage of the Republicans are OK with that and let it happen.

All I said was, if I could change one thing in politics, it would be getting the government to spend way less money, especially the money it doesn't have. It isn't about party. It's about out of control debt.

Last U.S. Recession Began Under Clinton, Economy Panel May Say - Bloomberg

The economy had slowed drastically in the final years of Clinton. Even if it didn't officially reach "recession" stage by Jan. 2001, it was well on its way. And that bin Laden guy that Clinton turned down caused a whole lot of economic havoc less than eight months into Bush's administration.

But how this debt is managed is about politics. There are two ways to manage debt. Cut spending and raise more revenue. One side just wants to cut spending, and they're the side that has zero credibility in managing an economy due to their track record. The other side is willing to raise more revenue and cut spending in areas such as the military budget, which has been bloated for years.

    1) I suspect black children raised in a stable home environment will be, on average, considered mainstream successful, whatever that means.

    2) I suspect any child raised in a single parent home or raised by relatives because daddy is in jail, are going to have issues.
    a) That isn't to say all children raised in a single-parent home will be fuckups as adults, because, obviously, people can work past that.

    3) I suspect the reason why whites are more likely to overcome those early issues is because being Caucasian means you get a mulligan or two or three.
    a) That's a short way of saying, no matter how you were raised, if you make a mistake and if you are white, it is more likely to be forgiven and forgotten, while for a black person it follows them around their entire life.

It is how my cracker ass can drive with no license plates for six months while a black person gets pulled over leaving the dealership, etc.
Also of note, blacks and whites use marijuana at the same rate. Blacks are five times more likely to be arrested for possession of marijuana as Cracker Jones.

White kid gets ignored, black kid becomes a felon, etc.

    4) Being white is the greatest natural advantage you can have in American society. It just is. It is easier to get a small business loan. It means a life of not being hassled by cops and generally have things go your way as you move ahead in life. While your black counterpart, who has exactly the same education and upbringing, will not be as far along.

It's so nice of them to be willing to raise my taxes and take more to my money. How generous! Especially when they'll offset those spending cuts in one area that is definitely the government's job to spend more in other areas, many of which are not.

Your article says, "unseat Bush in this year's presidential election." While there is no year listed, I think it can be safely assumed that the article was from 2004.

Meanwhile, here is a list of recessions that the group you cited says happened. They still have March of 2001 as the beginning of the first recession.

Oh, and here is an announcement from 2008 that also says that it began in March of 2001.

Meaning that, unless there is something else out there, the group decided not to change the date.
