Why? What would it change my mind about? My wife is a public school teachers, as is my mother. My son attends a public school.

See, now that's a reasonable answer: Poor leadership.

Sharpton is a poor leader? That's worse than no leader?

In the past 60 years it's the sense of entitlement that African Americans believe that the government and society owes them a guaranteed outcome. Asians only expect an opportunity and they grab it as if someone will take it away tomorrow.

How about the the years before the government was showering free stuff on the blacks? Were they grabbing the brass ring then with no liberals to hold them back?

Ah, so blacks are failures because they are entitled. Are you posting from the Republican debate stage?

Ah, but "public school" encompasses all sorts of situations. A public school in the suburbs is a world away from say PS #301 in NY (I'm hoping I picked an inner city PS). The "public school" in certain necks of the woods would have all the educators and resources to send 95% of their kids to 4 yr colleges but would be alien to the kid in inner city Detroit who has to share one iPad with 2000 other kids.

I bet if Asian-Americans were forced to read this thread and commit it to memory, they would shed brain cells and not be as successful.
