I'm following the Ohio pot story mostly because the weird intersection of B list celebrity and marijuana farming.

Nick Lachey, Frostee Rucker and Oscar Robertson are all among the investors in marijuana farms that would be the only supplier to stores that sell pot in Ohio.

The investment could be worth hundreds of millions, based on how the laws are written and assuming high (pun intended) sales.

From what I'm reading, doesn't the second initiative on the ballot also ban commercial monopolies in the state of Ohio?

So, in the Buckeye State, the USFL will rise again....

Matt Bevin, the Republican, could be on his way to an upset win in Kentucky. Up 50% to 46% with about a third of the vote counted, and Jack Conway (who ran a shit campaign) seems to be underperforming in Louisville.

Well, the Mississippi race is between the incumbent Republican and a truck driver who entered the Democrat primary on a lark, somehow won and has gotten zero support from the Democrat party. Until yesterday, I didn't even realize I was voting to elect a governor today. There's been almost no campaign ads on either side.
The Democrat candidate, Robert Gray, literally spent no money on his primary campaign. I almost voted for him just for the hell of it, then remembered that governor is actually kind of an important position and went with the other guy.

Bevin is all but certain to win, which means we may see our first state-level attempt at killing an Obamacare exchange. Conway getting 20-50k few votes than other major Democrats on the same ballot.

Mississippi yet to declare a winner, although that may just be someone from AP in Jackson taking a smoke break. More interesting to me there is a statewide initiative that would require increased school funding that turned into a racial hot potato.

Last Week Tonight had part of its election segment on Sunday about Gray, and included a TV news clip where Gray's mother said she didn't know he was running in the primary, and hadn't voted for him.

Federal bribery conviction be damned, ex-Bridgeport mayor back in office. He sounds like the kind of guy who would hand out science ovens to his friends.

Bridgeport is a s-hole, but when did it become CT's biggest town? when the Whale left? Waterbury and Bridgeport stand out so much because CT has a lot of good towns/cities.
