Oh, I'm not under the illusion others aren't, but I didn't make that argument. I'm arguing Carson's campaign hinges on him trying to portray himself as an honest guy who is not a typical "dishonest" politician. Why do you think he's leading the GOP field? But that narrative needs to hold up for him to win the nomination, and win the general election.

As for the other candidates, their campaign narratives aren't as narrowly focused as Carson's.

People care about politicians' lies when it affects them and there is hypocrisy involved. Such as, if an anti-abortion politicians is discovered to have had either an abortion, or paid to have a woman to have one.

Republicans believe they are holier than thou, so when they get caught in a lie, they get slammed. Democrats believe that nobody's perfect, and that if they do lie, well, it's because nobody's perfect.

Remind me again which party mentioned "God" in their 2012 party platform about a dozen times and which one didn't.

I don't think that God is the only source of morality and I would hope that neither do Democrats.

Again, try telling that to the Republicans.

Reminds me of when Obama's book said he was born in Kenya and then every major outlet in the mainstream media held him to that.
