    Oh. Good. A strong message.
If only someone had sent a strong message that racism wouldn't be tolerated back in the 60s, we might not have had all that violence related to the Civil Rights Movement.
In fact, why hasn't some sitting president just come out with a strong message saying terrorism isn't allowed? Could've prevented 9/11 if those guys knew there was already a strong message against that behavior out there.

Potentially, as applied. But a blanket statement by the president that anyone shouting racial expletives would be expelled would not withstand constitutional scrutiny. It would be overbroad.

OK. OK. So, that one might be made up too, but there are other stories that are surely true.

And, even if some of these stories are false, we can still learn from them.

I cannot believe that after all we went through in this profession almost a year ago, exactly, we've settled again upon, "It doesn't matter if it's true or not if it seems to us to accurately represent the 'culture,' and the message is an important one."

I think that allegedly reflected the rape culture with the lacrosse team. Don't make stuff up!

It's leadership. You're the president. You get paid a lot of money. Sorry if the job is hard.

Still waiting to find out how a strong message would have prevented this particular behavior or future instances of it from happening again.

Are we talkling about the profession or about students getting rid of the president with a couple of clever lies? I'm confused.
