To answer your question anyway, Yahoo ranks Bortles as the No. 16 player overall, and as No. 9 among QBs.

He's ninth in total fantasy points and 11th in average points per game, a hair behind Luck and Tyrod Taylor and a point ahead of Derek Carr.

That goes to my point about Bortles being a legit QB for contender. Obviously, no one was starting him Week 1, but he's been gold the past month or so. With all the weirdness at the position this year, ignoring his value is a mistake.

So Lacy has been demoted as the lead back in GB, leaving me wondering what I should do on Sunday. I was planning on giving him one last chance as my starting back, since the Lions give up the most fantasy points to running backs in the NFL.

With Starks taking over as the lead back, should I still give Lacy a go, or should I put in Yeldon, who faces a tougher task against Baltimore, which gives up the 10th fewest points to RBs?

I have Luck in one league and Roethlisberger in another. I drafted Carr in both leagues but dropped him early in the season when I had other position needs. Then both guys get hurt and I'm glad to have Cutler and Bortles. It's been a tough year.

Cutler is having a really good season realitywise, if not so much in fantasy terms, but he's usually good for a decent game against mediocre to lesser competition. It'll be interesting to see how well he does against the Rams, who don't always play to the level of their talent.

Wondering if I should roll with Taylor tonight vs the Jets or Wilson home against the Cards. Cousins against NO, Fitz, and McCown are available. Ehhh.

Taylor or Wilson for sure. No need to pick anyone up. I'd lean Wilson. Cardinals defense is good, but the Seahawks should be able to score some points at home. And unless it's a no-brainer, I tend to stay away from using players on Thursday.

Taylor. The Jets are going to be missing two safeties and Cromartie is doubtful. Wilson hasn't done jack all year, fantasy-wise (as I'm sure you know since he's on your team).

I'm also thinking Cousins will put up some numbers against the horrid Saints pass defense. But if I'm you, I probably start Taylor.

Seems like everyone's offense sucks on Thursdays because of the lack of game prep. I might lean Wilson.

He's in that 8-12 range, where you're playing him depending on the matchup. I'm not saying he's a bad option, just saying I don't see how a team in contention this late in the season would need him because they likely have a Top 6 guy already.
Brady, Rodgers, Cam, Palmer, Rodgers, Dalton and Rivers are likely on most every playoff team's roster. I'm taking all of them over Bortles. I'd add Roethlisberger to that list once he returns.
The rest of the bunch? You're playing matchups. Eli, Matt Ryan, Derek Carr and even Kirk Cousins are just as likely to score big as Bortles is.
If you have an elite guy and are holding onto Bortles to prevent someone in contention from getting him, I can't imagine who that guy must have.
I would dump him and try and find a WR or RB that could end up being a big target (Chris Givens, Kamar Aiken, Marcel Reece, etc), but I understand the strategy with what QBs are going on by the next two weeks.

    Chris Ivory or Starks?

Edit: I have Charcandrick West, too, but he's playing Denver.

I'm in first place, but with Luck out, I'd be thrilled to have Bortles. All of those QBs you mentioned can certainly score as big or bigger, but Bortles has been very consistent. Since Week 2, he's averaging better than 20 fantasy points per game, and has hit that number four times in those seven games (and one of the others was a 19).

In comparison, Eli, Ryan, Carson Palmer and Cousins each have two 20-or-more-point games since Week 2 (Palmer also had one in Week 1). The only one of those guys you mentioned as Bortles' comparable who has more 20-plus games than Bortles is Derek Carr, who has five (including the last three in a row).
