And I honestly don't understand that. I don't know his true motives, but is it not quite possible that he is also protesting on behalf of other grad students as well? That makes his background irrelevant to me.

Saw this column this morning and couldn't wait to post it here. Glad to see you already have it up. Although it wouldn't happen, this guy is 100% right. Today's "Precious Snowflakes" simply can't handle another viewpoint. And we're supposed to let them make the rules?

I cannot believe I just read this on a political/social issue thread on SJ.com. Wow. Have you been here long. :)

You're being a little harsh on the Dean's secretary.

You, on the other hand, seem to get your analysis from a wide cross-section of American political thought.

More diverse than you'd give me credit for. And you still miss the point that I don't call the police when someone expresses a differing point of view.

I kid. But your point is well-taken. As a group, they are genuinely offended by the idea that there are viewpoints other than their own.

I went to law school at a raging left-leaning school, then transferred to a right-leaning school that took all ideas seriously. The latter was such a refreshing atmosphere.

I think the insult is actually "special snowflake."

As Clint Howard once said, "How'd you slip by?"
